| TextEN | The Indian Navy Nilgiri Class Frigates were updated Versions of the British Type 12M Leander Class Frigates. The INS Taragiri (F41) and her sitership INS Vindhyagiri (F42) were a subclass of the Nilgiri Frigates. They are equipped with Radar Systems from Signaal, British Guns, Russian AK-230 AA Guns, a Bofors ASW Rocket Launcher, two sets of triple ASW Torpedo Launchers and a large Hangar for a Seaking Helicopter. The Taragiri enters service in 1980 and leaved the Indian Navy in 2013 as last ship of the Nilgiri Class. | |
